Capitol Hill Parks
Like many of the memorials and sites with stamps in the National Capital Region - especially inside D.C. proper, it can be quite easy to 'get' the stamp without ever seeing the site. In the Spring of 2020 at the height of the Coronavirus wave, I took Baby Yoda on a bike tour of the National Capital Region to finally see them all (or almost all of them)! Capital Hill Parks was a particularly fun adventure biking higher than Capital Hill itself and actually visiting each of the different parks that make up the NPS site.
Stanton Park with a statue of Nathaniel Greene.
Lincoln Square with the now famous Emancipation Statue.
It was a special treat to know I had visited this place and read the inscription before the protesters (ignorantly) decided that this statue was racist and should be removed. Thankfully cooler and smarter heads prevailed and the statue remained unharmed.
