National Mall and Memorial Parks
National Mall and Memorial Parks
Like many of the memorials and sites with stamps in the National Capital Region - especially inside D.C. proper, it can be quite easy to 'get' the stamp without ever seeing the site. The National Mall itself is the easiest to visit and is the primary starting point of any tour in Washington, D.C. I've lost count of the number of times I've visited it, but one of the most memorable was August 23rd, 2011 when an earthquake hit central Virginia. The impact was felt far north of D.C. and actually cracked the Washington Monument shutting it down for repairs for the next several years.
