Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve
Ebey's Landing can be found on Whidbey Island and is made of several different areas worthy of at least a half days visit. Fort Ebey and Fort Casey State Parks are the main two points of interest, however don't skip on visiting downtown Coupeville and Jacob Ebey's House. There are a number of spectacular views to take in all around the island including Mt. Baker on the eastern horizon. The military has a flight base here was well giving visitors the chance to see various aircraft flying training missions.
At Fort Casey State Park, don't skip on visiting the Admiralty Head Lighthouse as a nice little bonus site to enjoy in the historic reserve.
It is possible to visit the island without the use of a Ferry if you enter or exit through the north near Anacortes, WA. Otherwise, there is a very that runs to the Olympic peninsula and a separate one that connects with the northern side of Seattle itself.
